Born in Caracas-Venezuela, Penelope completed her professional ballet training under the guidance of Nina Novak who was a former Prima Ballerina from the Ballet Russes of Monte Carlo. In 1993 she also studied with Victor Ullate in Madrid-Spain.
Penelope joins the National Ballet of Venezuela when she was only 16, artistic director: Vicente Nebrada who was a pioneer in neoclassical ballet in Venezuela and was known for his pas de deux choreographies, also she performed must of the classical repertoire ballets, dancing: Don Quijote, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Coppelia and Paquita. In 2000 she had the opportunity to move to Canada performing at the Ontario Ballet Theatre and stayed in Canada completing a Cecchetti Associated Diploma in ballet instruction, at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. In 2005 Penelope joins the WA Ballet under the artistic direction of Simon Dow performing his choreographies including: Dangerous Liasons, Alice and wonderland and The Red Shoes. In addition she continue to dance under the direction of Ivan Cavallary performing many renown choreographies by Australian and International choreographers such as: Chrissie Parrot, Kim McCarthy, Petr Zuska and Paul Lightfoot’s.
Penelope has taught, choreograph and coach for prestigious ballet schools in Perth including: WA Conservatoire for Classical Ballet, Perth School of Ballet, Graduate College and the Star Factory. Her choreography: Black and White opened the Australian Cechetti Conference in 2012. Followed her dance carrier she completed a Masters by Research (Sports Science), investigating physiological parameters to improve dance performance in contemporary students.
