VET FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector that is part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP). Eligible domestic students can elect to defer all or part of their tuition fees for higher-level VET courses undertaken at approved VET FEE-HELP providers.

To be eligible for a VET FEE-HELP loan at Principal Academy, you must;

● be an Australian Citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
● hold a valid Tax File Number (TFN)
● be enrolled in one of the following courses:

Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts – 52749WA
Diploma of Performing Arts – 52748WA
Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management – CUA503111

● have not reached the maximum limit for VET FEE-HELP borrowing (see Study Assist for information of the maximum borrowing limit)
● Have completed Year 12 or Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) at exit level 3

Please Note: You MUST submit your valid TFN or Certificate for a TFN by the census date. If you do not have a TFN because you do not have a job, you must apply to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) for one.

How it Works

If you are unable to pay your course fees to Principal Academy upfront, and you choose to incur a VET FEE-HELP debt, you are deferring your payment to a later time. You will be required to repay the debt via the Australian Tax Office (ATO) once your income reaches the minimum threshold for repayment.

Up to date information on income thresholds for repayments, and the borrowing limit can be found on the Study Assist website.

How do I apply?

To apply for VET FEE-HELP you must submit a valid “Request for VET FEE-HELP assistance” form upon accepting your place in Principal Academy. This form must be submitted to administration before the “Census” date.
