Allan Girod

Allan Girod - Principal Academy of Dance

Allan is a performer and theatre maker, splitting his creative calendar between Perth and London. His main stage credits include You Once Said Yes (Look Left Look Right, UK and PIAF 2014), SPARKLondon Storytelling (UK 2013), Corteo (Cirque du Soleil 2012), When Harry Met Harry (Perth, Adelaide, Canada Fringes 2010 – 2011), The Good Thief by Conor McPherson (Perth, Adelaide, Canada 2007 – 2009), Road Train (kompany M 2009, 2000), The Threepenny Opera (WA Opera Studio 2007), The Maj Monologues (His Majesty’s Theatre 2007), Dealer’s Choice by Patrick Marber (Red Ryder Productions/PTC 2006) and for his comical dancing abilities he was cast as an Ugly Step Sister in Cinderella (Perth City Ballet 2011). Notable screen credits include the internationally acclaimed Lockie Leonard TV series (CH9) as well as roles in Saving Andrew Mallard, Air Australia (both ABCTV). His lead role in the short film Concsience, by bolderpictures, featured at the Short Film section at Cannes Film Festival in 2009.

He ventured into theatre making to create meaningful work for himself and others, and in an attempt to build a sustainable performance practice. His company is “flaming locomotive productions”. His most recent storytelling creation, Absolutely, debuted at The Blue Room Theatre in Fringe World 2014. He aims to continue creating intimate performances both here and abroad.
