Study Dance Teaching with Perth’s Principal Academy of Dance
This, Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (ISTD), extra curriculum program in modern theatre dance, will provide international recognition throughout the dance teaching world.
In addition to the set syllabus requirements, the program will include workplace health and safety, anatomy, session planning and choreography.
Students studying the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts full-time accredited courses, may elect to study this program in addition to their chosen course. However, it is most important to note that this program does not form part of the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF).
Applicants must be 18 years old and have achieved the Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (ISTD London) intermediate modern certificate. This certificate can be studied and taken during year one of the full-time courses.

Building on the skills gained in the Associate this qualification provides further insight into teaching dance.
Applicants must be 21 years old or above, completed three years formal teaching in their chosen genre and met the requirements of the syllabus outline. Upon successful completion, you may apply for full teaching status which will allow you to enter candidates for any ISTD examinations in Theatre Dance.
