Entry Requirements


Entry into the professional full-time courses is by audition only and is dependent on the applicant meeting certain entry requirements.

Application for the live and online auditions are made by clicking on the “Apply” link, completing and submitting the application form. Whilst we accept applications throughout the year, live auditions are held from November to January.

We promote diversity and equality and encourage applications from a wide range of backgrounds. Each individual is assessed through the audition process and accept applicants who meet the following eligibility:

  • A serious commitment to full-time training
  • Talent and potential as a performer
  • A potential for vital, trainable growth
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to work as part of an ensemble
  • Potential to meet the technical standards
  • Attend and pass the audition criteria

Audition Criteria

The live audition will consist of the following:

Dance Majors:

One hour classical ballet class

One hour jazz class

A pre-prepared solo up to one minute in duration (Pro Diploma applicants only)


Musical Theatre Majors:

One hour jazz class

A contemporary monologue

One musical theatre song of no more than 32 bars in duration


Acting Majors:

One Shakespearean monologue

One contemporary monologue


Online Auditions

Criteria for online auditions are provided to each applicant once the application form has been received.

Audition Dates

The live auditions for the 2021 intake will be held at Principal Academy studios in Leederville as follows:

First Round:  Saturday 12th December 2020

Final Round: Friday 15th January 2021
